For the past few days, I can’t open my desktop PC. I’ve tried to boot and reboot the machine to no avail. Since I do not know much about hardwares I asked my brother to inspect the CPU. I requested him to replace the power supply during his free time. After disconnecting the cables I brought him the CPU with a screw.
After several minutes, he called me. He wanted me to look at it before doing anything. And to my surprise, I saw heaps of dirt and dust! It seems like the alien dirts are trying to invade my computer! Haha... ‘Pwede na pala akong magtanim ng kamote sa loob! ’ (I can even plant sweet potato there! - that's our usual expression when it comes to dirt). It might not be the problem but I did some cleaning anyway.
I’ m no expert with hardwares but I think it’s not an excuse to take dusting for granted. Somehow it gave me something to ponder that day. More often people would ignore minor things in our lives. It could be related to lifestyle, health and thinking patterns. As much as we don’t want unnecessary ‘dirt’ or unexpected trouble, we could possibly prevented these things if we make time and attend to minor distractions like cleaning, exercising, reading etc.
And speaking of cleaning, the other night I also tried dusting off my old notes and journal. I scanned its pages. There I wrote reminders, inspiring quotes, bible verses, and uplifting messages. Ahh, those are ‘minor things’ which I do ignore nowadays too. Then I started reading and re-considered the lessons by heart. Perhaps it’s really good to be aware of the ‘dirt and dust’ in our minds and then get rid of them as soon as we can.

ReplyDelete:-) tama! Minor things are usually ignored.
ReplyDeleteI always make it a point that I sweep the dry leaves in my garden at all four points of the house. I do believe in Feng Shui for the wind of luck might stop its track if it sees mess in my garden. So with the house, not that it is spotless, but things are in order.

At least once a year we should dust the old cobwebs off our hearts and minds and do a good revamp of our views, thought processes etc. There is nothing better than a clean mind with fresh ideas.
ReplyDeleteWhen we leave the small things alone, they always fester into big major problems, so yes, it's a good idea to dust things regularly.
