Humps and Potholes

toy car

That’s my car..
I mean my toy car. I bought it as a souvenir several years ago. I’ve taken few shots yesterday and then cropped the edges of one photo for this post.

We are all travelers heading to a certain destination. We definitely want a pleasant and safe journey. However many times we are interrupted by humps and sometimes potholes along the way.

Author Bo Sanchez made an interesting analogy regarding humps and potholes.

We do not expect potholes. These are the difficulties or big problems we encounter - our house burned down, a family member got sick,  we lost our jobs, etc.  Nobody warns us about this. Therefore we are forced to stop and think things out.

On the other hand humps are made deliberately. We allow ourselves to pass though them as we move slowly yet safely.  These are the quiet time for  prayers, retreats or attending masses or worship services. We decide to stop. We think things out not because we are forced to but because we want to. prayers and humps
Going through these humps could be vital for us  to get rid of more potholes. We need some time for quiet reflections so as to avoid any path leading to nowhere and in the process help us find  better ways.

"We may run, walk, stumble, drive, or fly, but let us never lose sight of the reason for the journey, or miss a chance to see a rainbow on the way." ~Gloria Gaither

"If you wish to travel far and fast, travel light. Take off all your envies, jealousies, unforgiveness, selfishness, and fears." ~Glenn Clark

I like this post. I like the way you describe humps and potholes and compare them to the problems we face and the time we use to think and contemplate on solutions. Thank you for visiting and commenting on my blog. :)
