Frowny or Smiley Droplets?

‘It could be another not-so-good  day!’ I uttered yesterday  when I woke up. Aside from colds  I got fever and body ache. Maybe due to bad weather.  Sigh….   I stared blankly outside the glass window and then noticed the droplets, probably suggesting another rainy day?. . . . or a  troubled day? Ahhh.. it’s all in the mind, I whispered….
frown, smiley, moist, droplet
Then I remembered the article  written by  Norman V. Peale. In his book 'The Power of Positive Thinking', he asked:  ‘What is the easiest thing in the world to accomplish? He  answered: ‘Choosing unhappiness!’

That would be easy because you just have to go around and tell everyone that things aren’t going well. Nothing is really satisfactory. Situations are getting  hopeless and there'll be more troubles along the way. And then believe... Believe your statements. Believe that everything is gloomy… and surely within minutes you’d likely be the most unhappy person in the world!

However, he said that anyone can always choose the opposite. Instead of seeing the ’negatives’,   one has the power to say….

‘Things will be going well’
‘Life is good, and I’m thankful.  There are many things to be grateful for...’
‘Despite the bad weather or body aches or problems, I’m choosing joy…’
There’ll be warmth and happiness today!

And then  believe.... Believe  your statements.

That was what I did...
I guess  things didn't change right away but I felt better.

Stormy Weather

“Rain, rain go away…Come again another day…”

If  I could only push away the dark clouds  with that song. The rain hasn’t stopped for several days now. The rivers, dikes and the pathways were already filled with water. The water level alert today has reached the red mark. Perhaps we need to keep our hopes high anyway, it is reassuring to know that it wouldn't rain forever.

“After the rain, the sun will reappear.
There is life. After the pain, the joy will still be here.”  ~Walt Disney Company

And when it rains on your parade, look up rather than down. Without the rain, there would be no rainbow. ~Gilbert K. Chesterton
