Attached to Gadgets

Oh yes, I’m guilty too! (And this is to remind me…)
attachments, keeping in touch
It was past nine in the evening after the heavy downpour. A mother got worried for her teenage son who spent the afternoon with his classmates at the mall. She kept on calling  and texting him but she received no response. Later on, the boy arrived home with all the invalid excuses. Though the son had access to technology, he failed to use the gadget effectively.

Someone said that we are living in “less” times. And so it is that our gadgets are wire-less, our doors are key-less, our youth are job-less, our leaders are shame-less, our relationships are meaning-less, our attitudes are care-less, our values are heart-less and the situation is becoming hope-less. The only way to reverse the situation is to go back to God’s heart and really listen, follow and obey His instructions, and there meet Him, and meet each other as brothers and sisters again. ~Fr. The real danger is not that computers will begin to think like men, but that men will begin to think like computers. ~Sydney J. Harris

I like my new telephone, my computer works just fine, my calculator is perfect, but Lord, I miss my mind! ~author unknown

For a list of all the ways technology has failed to improve the quality of life, please press three. ~Alice Kahn

We have become an attached generation ~ attached to work, attached to TV, attached to our cell phones, iPods, computers etc. If we become so attached to things, we may become so detached from people, and even from God.

“Use things, love people.” Not the other way around please! May we have little or no regrets in the end that we loved too little or too late, just because we valued things more than people. Again, remember, money can be recovered, but the life of a person, especially of someone we love, is irreplaceable. ~Fr. Jerry Orbos, SVD

I have thought about this too and how I don't know what I would do without my cell phone, computer, or t.v. I think it's a little sad, but I grew up depending on these things.

Yes, even I grew up with these technologies but we can always utilize them to our advantage. Thanks Chelsea.
