Never Borrow Troubles

I maybe a worrier too, sometimes. But time and again  I  would  remind myself that  I should take hold of things by the smooth handle.

And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? ~Luke 12:25

There is a story about a cranky and gloomy old man who surprised everyone one day with his pleasant disposition. When he was asked why, his response was: “It finally dawned on me that the Scriptures always say, ‘It came to pass’, and not ‘It came to stay’. We must hold on with our hope that all our trials will pass, and will be over, soon. ~Rev. Fr. Jerry Orbos

Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. ~Matthew 6:34

Nobody is Perfect But...

"Nobody is Perfect!" ~ our common excuse if we are caught doing the wrong thing.  And I agree  however, we were also  given the ability to discern the right from wrong.  Because in the end we will suffer the consequences of our every wrong action.

Worry is a Rocking Horse

Refrain from worrying! -  sometimes it is easier said than done.  And it is a struggle for me too. Good thing, we are always reminded  by the Scriptures.

Do not confuse motion and progress. A rocking horse keeps moving but does not make any progress.~Alfred A. Montapert

Our Deepest Fear

Here’s one beautiful poem written by Marianne Williamson.
our deepest fear
Our Deepest Fear
By Marianne Williamson

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness
That most frightens us.

We ask ourselves
Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.

Your playing small
Does not serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking
So that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine,
As children do.
We were born to make manifest
The glory of God that is within us.

It's not just in some of us;
It's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine,
We unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we're liberated from our own fear
Our presence automatically liberates others.

Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. ~Matthew 5:16

In His Time

We're in a hurry to achieve our  goals, our dreams.
But everything happens in due time, in God's time.
in Gods time
Restlessness and impatience change nothing except our peace and joy. Peace does not dwell in outward things, but in the heart prepared to wait trustfully and quietly on Him who has all things safely in His hands. ~Elisabeth Elliott

No one can look at a pine tree in winter without knowing that spring will come again in due time. ~Frank Bolles

Remember all in due time. What God has for you is for you and no one else. Stop looking over at what the next person has. That person has walked their own path to get to where they are. You will get to your destination all in due time. ~Tamara Grant

He has made everything beautiful in its time …
for there shall be a time there for every purpose
and for every work. ~Ecclesiastes 3:11,17

Don't Cry Over the Past

Let us learn to appreciate
and enjoy the present moment.
dont cry over the pass
Don't cry over the past, it's gone.
Don't stress about the future, it hasn't arrived.
Live in the present and make it beautiful!

One problem with gazing too frequently into the past is that we may turn around to find the future has run out on us.  ~Michael Cibenko

I have memories - but only a fool stores his past in the future.  ~David Gerrold

A Dog or a Cat?

One priest delivered a homily with this dog and cat scenario.
dog and cat humble and proud

Are we a dog or a cat?
A dog is grateful and appreciative, while a cat is presumptuous and demanding.
A dog is humble whereas a cat is quite proud!

The intelligent man who is proud of his intelligence is like the condemned man who is proud of his large cell ~Simone Weil

Being proud isn't bragging about how great you are; its more like quietly knowing that you're worth a lot. ~author unknown

Never be too proud of who you are and what position you hold because after a game of chess the kings and pawns are tossed into the same box. ~author unknown

God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble. ~1 Peter 5:5

Don't Give Up

There'll be tough times - the times when we get discouraged and  tempted to give up.
I saw this inspiring quote from a book one afternoon. I've decided to create an artwork  and make the post together with the other  quotes listed below :

Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength. ~author unknown

Achievement seems to be connected with action. Successful men and women keep moving. They make mistakes, but they don't quit. ~Conrad Hilton

Being defeated is often a temporary condition. Giving up is what makes it permanent. ~Marilyn Vos Savant

Never let your head hang down. Never give up and sit down and grieve. Find another way. ~Satchel Paige

Defeat may test you; it need not stop you. If at first you don't succeed, try another way. For every obstacle there is a solution. Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. The greatest mistake is giving up. ~author unknown

Laziness

One amusing conversation I've read from a book.
quotes on laziness
Are you a host to a human parasite? Someone who depends on you for money? Or for housing? Or for your service?
…the parasite is an otherwise healthy human being that simply wants you to be responsible for his life, period. He doesn’t want to take responsibility for his own life. He looks to you for his sole salvation. If you don’t help him, he’ll die.

Deep inside, you feel used. You really want to say “No more!” but you can’t because you feel guilty.
Bad news: You think you’re doing good, but you really aren’t. ~ Bo Sanchez

Laziness travels so slowly that poverty soon overtakes him. ~Benjamin Franklin

We often miss opportunity because it's dressed in overalls and looks like work. ~Thomas A. Edison

Laziness will cause you pain. ~ a slogan

Communication and Nomophobia

Sometimes, we're so attached with the world  yet we are detached?  How's that? Let the image and the quotes do the explanation : )
nomophobia cartoon
The more elaborate our means of communication, the less we communicate. ~Joseph Priestley

Modern technology and media have made the world a smaller place. However, loneliness is still one of the biggest plagues in our modern society. As it is, we spend more time communicating with the world outside, and have little or no time communicating with the people around us. ~Fr. Jerry Orbos

The problem with communication ... is the illusion that it has been accomplished. ~George Bernard Shaw

The way we communicate with others and with ourselves ultimately determines the quality of our lives. ~Anthony Robbins

The most basic of all human needs is the need to understand and be understood. The best way to understand people is to listen to them. ~Ralph Nichols
