Frowny or Smiley Droplets?

‘It could be another not-so-good  day!’ I uttered yesterday  when I woke up. Aside from colds  I got fever and body ache. Maybe due to bad weather.  Sigh….   I stared blankly outside the glass window and then noticed the droplets, probably suggesting another rainy day?. . . . or a  troubled day? Ahhh.. it’s all in the mind, I whispered….
frown, smiley, moist, droplet
Then I remembered the article  written by  Norman V. Peale. In his book 'The Power of Positive Thinking', he asked:  ‘What is the easiest thing in the world to accomplish? He  answered: ‘Choosing unhappiness!’

That would be easy because you just have to go around and tell everyone that things aren’t going well. Nothing is really satisfactory. Situations are getting  hopeless and there'll be more troubles along the way. And then believe... Believe your statements. Believe that everything is gloomy… and surely within minutes you’d likely be the most unhappy person in the world!

However, he said that anyone can always choose the opposite. Instead of seeing the ’negatives’,   one has the power to say….

‘Things will be going well’
‘Life is good, and I’m thankful.  There are many things to be grateful for...’
‘Despite the bad weather or body aches or problems, I’m choosing joy…’
There’ll be warmth and happiness today!

And then  believe.... Believe  your statements.

That was what I did...
I guess  things didn't change right away but I felt better.
(Plus  I was able to finish these graphic representations : )

Hi Ric,
Great post! Really nice, inspirational and positive.
We should always be optimistic and yes we should always have a positive attitude. Having a negative attitude makes us miserable and lonely while having a positive attitude even in our difficult time gives us a reason to fight against the bad circumstances and emerge as a winner! :)

I find it difficult to tell myself to be positive when all I see are not so good things. However, I work with children and they continue to share their warmth and love so I feel good all the time.

Negatives are part of life and it also gives meaning to positives. In that way we will know which one to choose. Great post!

I am sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. I like this post about positive thinking. It really is easy to have negative thoughts and I know I have a tendency to do that. I hope you feel better soon. I will try to keep a positive mind.

I guess it's about being real with the choices you have. You can be ill in bed, feeling bad with aches and pains but you can still choose not to make everyone else around you feel terrible. I hope you are feeling much better now, and I love the droplet faces, it made me smile this morning.
