Life's Like That! 3

Here’s the last part of the trilogy (lol). Just like the first and second parts, the message is quite the same. Life has to go on, no matter what. Sometimes we’re up, sometimes we’re down but we have to look at the brighter side. Though sometimes it is easier said than done. This post is also my way of welcoming the yuletide season. (dahil maaga talaga ang Pasko sa Pinas!)
life's like that

Advance Merry Christmas!

Ctrl-Alt-Del

You probably know the best way to get out of PC trouble - the Ctrl-Alt-Del buttons. And that may also be true with our lives. I have made a simple analogy.

CONTROL

We have no control over many things but we can always take charge of our actions and attitude. Don’t let anybody choose that for us.

I ‘ve read an article about Jerry.  Each morning upon waking up, he'd say the following lines:
"Each morning I wake up and say to myself, Jerry, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or you can choose to be in a bad mood.' I choose to be in a good mood. Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or I can choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it. Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side of life."
A very good attitude. Hope we can always do the same. I agree with Maya Angelou. She stated  : "If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude." And let us be reminded, control is taking responsibility.

ALTERNATIVE
According to Helen Keller “When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us.” I believe it’s true. Thus, we should be grateful for new doors, new opportunities or new alternatives.
“If plan A didn’t work, the alphabet has 25 more letters.” So, we have to keep on going.

DELETE
Sometimes we make a lot of mistakes. We mess things up. And that is okay. Thank God, we  have that option to ‘delete’ some ‘bad files’ and  then create a new one. Just be aware of the lessons.

I remember the story shared by Jim Rohn:  One day a man was nursing a glass of wine (for the nth time) and thought to himself, 'What if I wasn't an alcoholic? What if I wasn't an absent father all these years? What if I cared more for the people I love instead of caring for my alcohol needs?" And just like that he stopped drinking and started living.   Like that man, we can decide to delete the errors and make that change today.

We do have a choice! Let us remember to Ctrl-Alt-Del our lives!

Kid's Prayers

Yesterday, I was looking for something to write. (and yes,  something to cheer me up too). I saw two kid's letters to God in a magazine. Made me smile and I’ve decided to look for more in the internet.  Here are some…
"Dear God, It rained during our whole vacation and my father was mad! He said some things about You that people are not supposed to say, but I hope You will not hurt him anyway, Your friend, (but I am not going to tell you who I am)

A short amusing  story from Kerygma magazine:
Bernadette was teaching  her five-year old daughter, Andi the Lord’s Prayer. For several evenings, Andi would repeat the lines after her. Finally, one night, Andi decided to do it on her own.  Bernadette listened with pride as Andi carefully pronounced each word, right up to the end: “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from e-mail. Amen!”

...O Lord, please deliver us from spammers, too  (lol)

Finally, let me share a quote by Drew Barrymore:
"I guess I do have a childlike sense of fun, and although I still have my dark days, I'm generally an optimistic person. The way things have gone in my life, sure, I could have been a bitter person. But I just find bitter people really un-fun, you know? And who wants to be that person?"

Welcome the Change

Lately, I’ve been making lots of changes. I've transferred from our old home to a new one. In addition, I have to adjust to a new work load. With these developments,  I have to manage my time more effectively in order to attend to all important matter. But despite the changes, I’m still devoting some time for the blog updates. After all, life is all about dealing with change and making the most out of it.

Here are some good thoughts about change:

If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten. ~Tony Robbins

Your life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change. ~Jim Rohn

By changing nothing, nothing changes. ~Tony Robbins

change is not death
