Each Day is a Page

Each new day is a page.. our journey’s blank page...
...perhaps the continuation of the previous chapter;
...or the beginning  of a new one.
book page life
It could be new blessing.... or another burden?
Whatever, we have to accept and deal with it...
We are the author... and we’re in charge of the story.
How we react to situations is up to us...
How we make it worthwhile or dragging depends on us.
But, in spite of the changing life patterns,
I hope and pray we’ll be able to make wise choices.
We may not have all the best favors,
We may not have all the great options,
bur let’s make the most of what we have.
Be grateful...and let's keep the ‘good’ in us...

Mark Twain stated it well,
‘Good friends, good books and a sleepy conscience: this is the ideal life.’

Marbles and Messages

Two days ago, I started thinking a new post. However, I wasn't able to come up with  good  concept until last night. I guess  when one is tired and preoccupied with worries works, he’s not as  creative. Anyway, it really happens.. (Life's like that!)  At least  my father’s  marble collection  gave me something to reflect upon...  and working on the following graphics  somehow, stirred  me up again!
hold on to hope and marble
According to Romans 8:25 .....we hope for what is not seen
we wait patiently for it.

marble reach for the star cartoon
yes, we need to stay awake...

and  I can't agree more...

I also find the next message uplifting,
“Perhaps our eyes need to be washed by our tears once in a while,
so that we can see Life with a clearer view again.” ~Alex Tan

Always be grateful... I know  it’s easier said than done
but undeniably the best way to begin our days..
marble heart gratitude
because....
Gratitude turns what we have into enough. (author unknown)

..and finally, we just have to smile and laugh : )
 coz..
life is good smiley

Have a  wonderful weekend !!

Life's a Journey (a poem)

Just a simple poem
life's a journey poem
Truly, life's a journey of joy and sorrow!
No guarantee for happiness for every tomorrow.
Let us be  prepared for defeat or victory,
And rely on God’s promises to keep us company.

Perhaps there’ll be  times when we wanna give up!
Everything  isn’t easy,  situation seems so tough..
But we have no choice but to keep on going..
Fret not otherwise we'll end up  losing.

Be courageous enough to meet life’s battle,
Choose the right track in spite of all the struggle.
Move ahead with our eyes fixed on our goals.
Stand  up and stay calm whenever we fall.

Like a Jigsaw Puzzle

Our lives are made up of countless pieces
Its chapters and adventures are
colorful, exciting, unpredictable...
jigsaw puzzle

It’s nice to find the right fit.
It’s great to know the answers to our problems!
puzzle parts
However, that is not always the case.
Many parts do not match so easily.
It could take a lot of time and effort to find the missing pieces.
The trials and difficulties are sometimes frustrating!
missing pieces
As much as we want to get rid of other parts,
they are essential.  We need the lessons to make us tougher..
and better.
life's puzzles

We need to deal with our situations with patience, perseverance, courage,
and with high hopes to see the ‘big picture’  in due time.

After all, the Lord has made everything beautiful in its time.

Life's Like That! 3

Here’s the last part of the trilogy (lol). Just like the first and second parts, the message is quite the same. Life has to go on, no matter what. Sometimes we’re up, sometimes we’re down but we have to look at the brighter side. Though sometimes it is easier said than done. This post is also my way of welcoming the yuletide season. (dahil maaga talaga ang Pasko sa Pinas!)

Advance Merry Christmas!

Mystery or Misery?

haunted house cartoon

Last night, I’ve seen a lot of scary T.V. shows – with topics on spirits, ghosts, souls. etc. Well, what would I expect during the halloween madness (hehe). Somehow it reminds me of the story of the Winchester Mystery House. The mansion built by Sarah Winchester for 38 long years. She kept herself in seclusion after the death of her husband, a gun magnate. The mansion, with 160 rooms is believed to be haunted by spirits. Some of its unusual features are stairways leading to nowhere, doors that open to abrupt drops and labyrinthine floor plan. You may ask why. Speculation as to the reason for her obsession includes escaping the ghosts of those killed by her husband’s armaments. Hmm, looks like really scary!

The question is “Is it really a mystery or a misery?”. I knew nothing about her and I don’t have the right to judge. What I do know is that life is a choice and we have to discover its goodness and potential no matter how difficult it may seem. Anyway, let me just share these lessons.

I don't think of all the misery but of the beauty that still remains. ~Anne Frank

The trick is in what one emphasizes. We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves happy. The amount of work is the same. ~Carlos Castaneda

I've learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends on our disposition and not on our circumstances. ~Martha Washington

The miserable have no other medicine but hope. ~Friedrich Nietzsche

Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from Him. ~Psalm 62:5

Life's Buttons

We’re constantly viewing a movie inside our minds. Just like a DVD player we can always press a button and watch. However some people prefer to dwell on their favorite button.
slow down and fastforward
Here are five basic ‘life's buttons’ similar to a DVD player:

The Rewind Mode – When we choose to rewind the painful events in our lives and refuse to move forward. We become  ‘prisoners’ of the past and eventually end up living in misery.

The Fast Forward Mode – When we tend to get so busy making a living but not making a ‘life’. We are always in a hurry trying to accomplish everything at one time.

The Stop Mode - The time when we refuse to live. We try to run away from all concern and focus on vices or addictions just to relieve hurts or anxieties. We engage on self-gratifying activities without thinking the needs of other people.

The Pause Mode – We need to pause for awhile and rest. We have to recount good memories and realize its lessons. However, we don’t have to stay that long on this mode because we have to consider the fifth mode.

The Play Mode – When we try to savor life including all the joys and pains of living. We face every challenge that comes our way and enjoy the journey. This could be the happiest mode.

These buttons are available to us. It’s up to us to choose which mode fits us.

We all live with the objective of being happy; our lives are all different and yet the same. ~Anne Frank

There are two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle. ~Albert Einstein

Inspiring Words to Live By (Video)

I used to create family videos using Windows Moviemaker.  Late last year, my brother gave me a copy of another  video editor called  Pro Show Gold. I've  tried to explore the program and discovered better effects and transitions.

Putting together some of my artworks, here's one video created via Pro Show Gold and packed with inspirational quotes :

In between goals is a thing called life that has to be lived and enjoyed. ~Sid Caesar

Believe that life is worth living and your belief will help create the fact. ~William James
